Rancho Palos Verdes Neighborhoods
PV Drive East/Miraleste 
Miraleste is known as the "red tile roof" area with classic style homes with Mediterranean and Spanish architecture.
There is a blend of older and newer homes with some harbor and city views.
Communities within the area include Crestmount, Rockinghorse and Sunnyside Ridge.
Miraleste Plaza has a small commercial development and houses the famous Italian food deli, Francesco's
Miraleste houses a mixture of horse properties and developed subareas.
Mira Catalina

The homes within this area are a variety of architecture with ranch, Mediterranean, modern, Spanish and just about every other style you can imagine. 

PV Drive South
This area is unique as it includes condos, town homes, residential homes and multi-family developments as well as commercial and recreational developments.
Trump National Golf Course sits on 261 oceanfront acres and has a magnificent shoreline
Terranea at Long Point (the former Marine land site) is a new development and features a Destination Resort Hotel with 582 rooms, including villas, bungalows and casitas. There is also be a 65,000 square foot convention center with an 18,000 sq foot ballroom, a 25,000 square foot luxury spa and unique shops.
Point Vicente Park and Interpretive Center is south Golden Cove along the coast and is a favorite whale watching venue as well as having nature trails and beautiful places to have picnics.
The Coast Guard mans the 67-foot high lighthouse and provides rescue services. 
Abalone Cove Shoreline Park is located west of Portuguese Bend and is a gorgeous coastline preserve with public access to the beach. This protected area has beautiful rocky outcroppings and tide pools to explore.

West Palos Verdes

Included in this area is the upscale development known as 'Oceanfront', a master planned community of 79 estates with walking trails along the ocean bluff.
The development has 132 acres with home site lots ranging from 1/2 to 3/4 acres and has 66 acres of open space.
Large custom luxury homes were also developed along the bluff off of Palos Verdes Drive West at Marguerite Drive.
Point Vicente extends along the hillside on the east side of Palos Verdes Drive West and has an older development of homes.
Golden Cove shopping center has a Starbuck's, restaurants, offices, shops and a private Montessori school.

La Cresta
La Cresta contains the following developments: Hillcrest Meadows, Hillcrest Manor, Cresta Verde, The Ranch, Vantage Point and Rolling Hills Country Estates.
New developments have homes built on about 1/2 acre and include Sea Breeze, Island View and Ocean Terrace.
Vantage Point is a 31 acre development with 68 homes and was built on the former site of the Northrop Research Center.
Sea Breeze has 59 acres and 63 homes on 32 acres with 24 acres of open space.
La Cresta is the home of Rancho del Mar, the Palos Verdes Peninsula continuation school and the St. John Fisher Catholic church.

Los Verdes
Both Vista Grande elementary school and Hesse Park are located within Los Verdes.
Hesse Park is an extremely popular and active park because has programs, activities and equipment that caters to people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors and to families, too.
At the park are baseball and soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, playgrounds for toddlers through adolescents, BBQs, picnic areas, and a well-used 1/4 mile walking path. Peninsula senior activities are held at the community center which offers many other classes and activities.
Crest/Marymount College

It includes the large tract at Whitley Collins Drive between Highridge and Crest Road.
Communities include Armaga Springs, Hilltop Town homes (a gated community), Mesa Verde, Mira Verde Townhomes (a gated community), Ridgegate Townhomes, Seaview and Stonecrest.
Also included are the Rolling Hills Estates communities of Highridge Townhomes and the Terraces Townhomes (a gated community).
Ridgecrest Intermediate School is also located in this area.

Silver Spur
These homes located in the most northern area in Grandview have an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean, canyons, the Palos Verdes Golf Course, the Beach Cities, Torrance, Los Angeles and on very good days, the Santa Monica Mountains, San Gabriel Mountains. Also, on the clearest day, the view includes the San Bernardino Mountains. These priceless views are why the neighborhood area is called 'Grandview'.
Cornerstone at Pedregal Elementary and Silver Spur Elementary are located here.
The "Riviera" attracts families and their children who can attend Palos Verdes schools, which are some of the best in the nation. It's a very popular area for families to live in and raise children.
Eastview/RPV is located near shopping centers, coffee shops, restaurants as well as fast food restaurants. This coupled with being a short distance to the freeway makes this a prime area to live in.
"Strathmore Homes" were built in the early 1970s. Strathmore consists of single-family homes with square footage ranging from 1,400-3,000.
